Health Information Technology professionals are vital to the operations of health management and electronic health records. You will learn about anatomy & physiology, pathophysiology, medical coding, reimbursement, legal issues, supervision, quality management, and electronic health records.
San Juan College offers two programs within Health Information Technology- an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Health Information Technology and a Certificate in Medical Coding/Billing.

Medical Insurance Coder/Biller Certificate
As a medical coder and biller you will have a vital role in connection with health care providers, patients and insurance companies. Students who complete the Certificate in Medical Insurance Coder/Biller will be prepared to take the American Health Information Management Association’s (AHIMA) Certified Coding Associate (CCA) exam.

CAHIIM Accredited
The Health Information Management accreditor of San Juan College is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management (CAHIIM). The College’s accreditation for associate degree in Health Information Management has been reaffirmed through 2029-2030.
